What precautions or measures have your dealers implemented to protect people and prevent the spread of any illness?

The wellbeing of our customers, employees and business partners remains our highest priority. For your peace of mind, our dealers have implemented intensive cleaning, hygiene and social-distancing measures, based on best-practice advice from governments and health authorities.

What are some examples of these measures?

We have communicated a range of measures to our dealerships, including:

  • More intensive cleaning throughout the dealership focusing on high-touch areas, including doors, handrails, counter tops, workstations and customer-facing areas
  • Disinfecting/sanitising of vehicles as they come in and out of the dealership with a focus on high-touch areas including door handles, steering wheel, switches and control buttons, multimedia screens, indicators stalks, seat belts, keys and other places
  • Using hand sanitiser and wearing masks and gloves as required
  • Enforcing social distancing in showrooms and service waiting rooms through distance markings on floors and minimising direct interactions in a single area.
  • Staff have been educated to maintain good hygiene standards and, throughout the dealership, sanitary packs are provided to ensure hygiene measures are met.

I am reluctant to visit a dealership. How can you help? What remote services do you offer?

Our dealers are well-positioned to assist you in ways that prioritise your well-being and that of our dealership staff. Your preferred/local dealer will be able to assist in addressing your specific concern as well as any other questions you may have. You can find their details here.

Is there advice on how to properly clean and disinfect my truck?

When it comes to your cab, the formula is simple – Regular, Soap and Water. Spend extra time on the commonly touched surfaces including the steering wheel, buttons, handles, seatbelt, cup holder, fuel filler cap, mirrors and sun visor. You can use disinfecting wipes for these specific areas because the germs are harder to shift but avoid using bleach or ammonia-based products and protect your vehicle’s interior.

If multiple drivers are using the one vehicle, it is recommended you cover your seat in disposable plastic covers and use plastic footwell liners that can be changed regularly. For extra peace of mind, consider sanitising the air conditioning system using a sanitiser/cleaner pressure pack.

Can I still obtain Hino Genuine Parts at my local dealership?

While Hino has been subject to unprecedented pressure on the supply chain, we continue to work closely with Hino Motors, Ltd. and other suppliers to manage business continuity and ensure stock levels remain adequate.

Keeping your business on the road is critical and we will continue to provide the support needed to ensure this.

Our Sydney-based Parts Distribution Centre continues to be in operation to ensure all orders are met and businesses supported. Strict social distancing guidelines have been implemented.
