Hino races into Preston Hire pit garage
Hino Australia joins the Preston Hire Racing Team 18 group of partners for the 2018 season.

Hino Motor Sales Australia has announced a new business and sporting partnership with Preston Hire Racing Team 18 for the 2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship season.

“Supercars works for the Hino brand as we have seen over the last two years as a Championship sponsor – so the relationship with Preston Hire Racing is a natural extension of our brand association,” said Dimitri Andreatidis, National Marketing Manager, Hino Motor Sales Australia.

“Given the synergies between our customer base and Team 18’s sponsors, our partnership goes well beyond any brand exposure Hino will receive from displaying our logo on the Team 18 car and merchandise, and extends into all areas of the Hino business.”

With the talented Lee Holdsworth behind the wheel of Team 18’s new-look ZB Commodore, the dedicated Preston Hire Racing outfit is committed to 2018 being its best year ever.

“Gun driver Holdsworth will be a popular visitor to the Hino Sports Deck at selected rounds of the Championship,” said Mr Andreatidis.

Hino will join fellow Toyota company, Toyota Forklifts as a business partner of Preston Hire Racing.

“The Toyota Group offers Australia’s only complete fleet solution with a partnership that makes sourcing and managing your complete fleet needs – trucks, cars, prestige vehicles, forklifts, financing – affordable and easy, which are key considerations for our customers,” said Mr Andreatidis.

Team 18’s owner Charlie Schwerkolt welcomed Hino as a new partner of the team:

“I’m excited that Hino is joining our group of supportive partners for the 2018 Championship – it’s a partnership that I believe makes excellent business sense for both parties,” said Schwerkolt who also owns Waverley Forklift Group, one of Australia’s largest independent forklift hire companies which utilises a fleet of 20 transport trucks, over 2000 Toyota forklifts and 50 Toyota Hilux Service vehicles.

“2018 brings a lot of continuity for my team with Lee Holdsworth and we’re building on a solid foundation with my fantastic team – 2017 ended on a high for us with second overall at the Grand Finale at Newcastle, and we are excited to take this form into 2018.”

The new-look Preston Hire Racing ZB Commodore will make its debut at the challenging Adelaide 500 street circuit in the first round of the 2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship on the 1st – 4th March 2018.
